If you Hate Trump because he is Racist, then attack his voters for being stupid and uneducated. You are part of the Problem.

Hello Free Spirits,

I hope that you are enjoying your beautiful week. I decided that I will take a break from social media, mainly Facebook because its been flooded with negativity. And as I like to say “hate spews more hate” especially during this time that couldn’t be more true.

Lately I’ve been noticing that a lot of people who oppose Trump and his ideas are hardcore bashing trump voters. And by hardcore bashing I mean bullying… I was very upset about this, not because I am a trump supporter but because I like to think of myself as a person who believes in peace and love for EVERYone.

Following the election Trump has proposed and supported what some would consider very controversial ideas. Example: According to Politico, Trump canceled advertisements urging people to sign up for Obamacare. Trump signalled his support of the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline. And supported a Immigration Program which will identify individuals seeking to enter the United States on a fraudulent basis with the intent to cause harm, or who are at risk of causing harm subsequent to their admission. These people will be subject to interviews and a standard screening procedure. You can read more on the VOX.

There is no doubt that American’s way of life will be affected by these changes. And I don’t think these changes will be necessarily positive . But there seems to be a group at fault for these problems. As if somehow Trump isn’t the main problem but the millions of people who voted for him are.

I see a trend in every comment section following a  “Trump Sucks” or what he is doing wrong article or meme.

  1. Top 10 comments include people who say something along the lines of “I see a trend these trump voters are uneducated” “stupid sheep voted for trump” “You deserve all the terrible things to come” “Should have listened to us before dumb fucks, now we all have to suffer because of your choices” View the pictures of the comments below…

My favourite one is the bottom left one: It’s basically saying “I’m not even American but let me blame the stupid people in America to make myself feel better”

  2. Most of these comments are useless. There I said it. What is productive about this? All I see is people feeling entitled and frustrated. Something along the lines of “You didn’t listen to me before, oh you thought I was dumb before well look at what’s happening now. You deserve all this, because you didn’t listen to me” Their EGO is taking over. The same people who are spewing muslim lives matter and women’s rights matter are the ones who are calling their neighbour stupid and sheep. Please tell me how this is productive and making things better…. Hating other people who have been misguided their whole lives doesn’t make you a better person.
  3. Most of the dialogue on the internet has people hating on their neighbours who voted for him instead of hating the man himself and the society and circumstances that influenced them to think this way. In short some Americans are slowly become terrorists, hating each other because of their “different political beliefs”. We are creating a war zone in our own country. We say we hate war and discrimination in other countries but we are bullying and publicly shaming other people on the internet.

I hope this post inspires you to be more mindful of your actions towards others. Maybe instead of attacking these trump supporters that have been brave enough to come out and say they don’t support him anymore. We can welcome them to join our fight against hate, misogony, racism, classism and bullying.

If you want to stop the madness I recommend loving your neighbour as you would your loved one. Even if that includes the hate mongering person. Send them love, some kind constructive information and move along.

And remember what you told us all from the beginning.

LOVE TRUMPS HATE <3
