Hello Free Spirits!
This blog post is all about fancy dining at the best Tea Room in Toronto! My boyfriend just recently graduated from university wohooo!!! Which means it is time to celebrate. Being the fancy man he is, we all celebrated with some Tea at Windsor Arms. A five star luxury hotel in the heart of Yorkville.
Right after his convocation we walked over to the hotel and on the way marvelled at the beautiful condos going up under construction in the area.
As soon as we arrived we were greeted by a wonderful hostess who welcomed us into the tea room
I was blown away by the whole atmosphere it was very luxurious and intimate. The tea room was divided into two sections. One with a long table and sets of four or two chairs and the other room with a large fireplace as a centre piece
It was my first experience having tea in a fancy tea room like this so when the food and all the cutlery came out and was placed on the table I had no idea what I was doing.
There were so many little spoons, forks and knives and plates. This made the whole experience very fun for me! It was like a puzzle I was trying to figure out how every thing worked.
And what made the experience even better was being able to wear a fancy hat during my tea time. You can wear one of these hats when you give a $5 donation to a local charity. A nice little extra something that adds to the experience.
The food arrived on 4 trays and we were given recommendations for food pairings as well as the food order. We started from the bottom and worked our way to the top.
My favourite were the scones which I decorated with some Devon Cream, Raspberry Jam and Strawberry Preserve. Their little sandwiches were very good as well and my favourite one was the Cucumber & Sun-dried Tomato Paste & Dill Cream Cheese. Although it didn’t seem like a lot of food, I was pretty full before reaching the desserts at the top.
Now what about their tea because after all this is a tea house? Their tea was absolutely delicious! I am a huge fan of Rose or peach flavoured tea so it was a bit of a difficult choice between the Rose Petals and Bai Hao tea. In the end I chose the Rose Petal tea because it fit my mood. The rose hints in the tea were very strong and I would rate it a 10/10.
Dining at this place made me feel like a millionaire. My first Tea Room experience was amazing I had a great time. I would definitely go there again, maybe for my graduation? 😉
